What is VAU?
VAU is an all-in-one account update process that automatically updates the card number and/or expiration date on file if you have recurring payments set up using your Clackamas cards.
Only participating merchants will automatically receive your card information, giving you uninterrupted service from participating merchants. Since not all merchants participate, you should also contact the merchants directly if your card information changes.
How does it work?
Clackamas provides Visa with changes to card numbers and expiration dates. VAU processes these inquiries against their database and provides updates to participating merchants via their secure platform.
Participating merchants with recurring card transactions (such as Netflix, Hulu, insurance premiums, etc.) update their customer databases with refreshed account data before transactions are authorized. This helps avoid potential declines and allows you to skip the time and avoid the hassle of resubmitting your payment information.
